Cloud Providers and Tools

Workflow, processing, presentation, and backups have become just as critical as capturing the initial photograph.

We’ve come to heavily rely on the following tools and services over the decades.

Backups and Security

  • Backblaze Unlimited Computer Backup

Backblaze is our smoking-crater backup solution. If our primary local encrypted backups are destroyed in an accident or due to hard drive failure, then Backblaze has our back. All of Hamor Photography’s critical data is also encrypted and stored at Backblaze.

  • Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage

In addition to backing up our individual laptop and desktop computers, we also utilize Backblaze’s B2 Cloud Service to back up data from my Synology NAS server. You can never be too careful when it comes to your irreplaceable data.

  • Synology NAS

We’ve been a fan of Synology’s network-sttached storage (NAS) solutions for years. Their workhorse solutions are economical, easily expandable, and reliable with Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) technology.

Website Domains and Hosting

  • Namecheap

Virtually all of our domain name portfolio is registered through Namecheap, and Hamor Photography has been relying on their services for over a decade. As proponents of Net Neutrality, Namecheap is recommended by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF).

  • Squarespace

As a Squarespace Circle member, Hamor Photography recommends Squarespace to all our non-technical clients. Their editing interface and support is top notch, and we ourselves utilize Squarespace to host multiple websites. Including this one.

  • SmugMug

Hamor Photography has relied on SmugMug’s amazing photo album and gallery hosting for over 15 years. Their services integrate directly with Adobe Lightroom Classic, and we actually assisted SmugMug with the the development of their Lightroom plug-in.
